The Crown & Plough nestles in the heart of the village of Long Clawson, within the beautiful Vale of Belvoir countryside. The Crown & Plough is a true country pub with a traditional feel.
The pub is easily accessible for Nottingham and Oakham (20mins). We are also easily accessible from London by train - Kings Cross to Grantham 1hr. East Midlands Airport is only 45 mins away by car.

Things to see and do
Belvoir Castle is only a short drive away through the Vale, through picturesque Leicestershire Villages, with many craft fairs, jousting festivals, and open air concerts taking place at the Castle over the year.
Rutland Water is just beyond the town of Oakham which offers fishing, sailing, the ‘Rock Block’ climbing wall and major walking and cycling routes. It’s also an important British nature reserve, having successfully re-introduced the native Osprey back into the area.
Walking, Cycling and all Equestrian activities are popular in the area and attract visitors from afar. The Grantham / Nottingham canal runs only a few miles north of the village is always a delight to walk or cycle along. The woods surrounding the Belvoir Estate are also rich with walking paths and bridleways (The Jubilee Way) runs through the Belvoir Woods.
A little further a field (40 mins) you will find the historic town of Stamford where Burghley horse trials is held as an annual event. Belton House, Grantham - another National Trust attraction is only 20 mins away. We are also in striking distance of the City of Leicester and the vibrant City of Nottingham.
The area is also renowned for it’s Pork Pies and Stilton Cheese. There are a number of cheese producers in the surrounding villages where you can buy cheese direct from. |
